Ammonite

This Madagascan tractor ammonite is carved to represent the ancient marine creature emerging from its shell. There are no extant fossil records to show exactly how they actually were, as their soft tissues didnt make through the eons. So this is my own rendering, resembling a nautilus/cephalopod with its tentacles...this particular piece has faceted fire opal eyes and a stainless steel stand to elevate this creation into a wonderful art piece, an objet d'art it measures approx 8" in diameter..
